Do you want to train your dog, but you feel like you don't have the time to do so during the work week? What if I were to tell you that six minutes a day is all you need?
Yes.
Only six minutes a day.
You don't need to train your dog for hours every day to have a well-behaved pooch. It is a good idea to start off slowly when starting a training regime. You can train with your dog for three minutes in the morning, and complete the final three minutes when you get home.
That's more manageable than daily hour-long sessions, right?
Slowly, and gradually, you can build up to longer more intense training sessions. By starting off slowly, you are helping your canine companion reach success.
If you only need to train for six minutes a day, why do certified dog trainers book hour-long consultations? We do this because:
We are teaching you the nuts and bolts of training. We break down the steps to make instructions as clear as possible, and it does take time to do this! For example, teaching "stay" requires following several steps, and following these steps in a specific order. We teach you these steps in a time-appropriate manner, so that you and your dog do not become overwhelmed and both you and your dog understand what you are doing. Dogs learn best by taking baby steps, so that's what we do!
We provide you with troubleshooting tips. If a certain technique doesn't work, or your dog doesn't respond well, we give you the skillset to overcome these challenges.
We are giving you the tools to understand how to read your dog's body language and how he or she is communicating with you.
We are answering your questions and reviewing your homework from the previous week.
We are giving you new homework, based on your dog's progress.
